Atlas Lumber Company is committed to preserving the integrity of forests world-wide through responsible harvesting of timber products and sustainable forest management. We are proud to be associated with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a not-for-profit organization developed in 1993 that sets the global standard for responsible forestry.
Atlas Lumber Company has been a certified chain-of-custody distributor of FSC-certified wood products since 2007. When you utilize FSC-certified wood products in your jobs, you are making a socially and environmentally conscientious purchasing decision. Virtually any product made from forest products can carry the FSC label, so our knowledgeable sales team will work tirelessly to get any product you need through the chain-of-custody FSC process.
Most major environmental groups support the FSC forest certification system. In fact, the Rainforest Alliance is the world’s leading FSC-certifier of forestlands through their SmartWood program. The FSC certification process is also used by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to qualify certified wood credits in the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system.
